OUR MINISTRIES

For over 30 years, we have been dedicated to producing excellent leaders. We accomplish this goal through intensive training of business executives, middle managers, civic leaders, nonprofit leaders, church clergy and lay leaders, as well as emerging young leaders and urban youth to operate in technically and morally excellent leadership.  We are committed to the total development of leaders from the inside out. These transformed leaders develop into inspired collaborators, people developers and visionaries making a difference in their communities and throughout the world today.

LEADERS IN THE NATION

African American Leadership Seminar - For the past 19 years, SLI has coordinated a twice yearly leadership seminar and retreat among 100 intergenerational African American leaders in government, business, civil rights, and education. The purpose of the AALS is to build relationships among leaders and to provide an environment for leaders to receive briefings on current critical issues. These gatherings have evolved into year-round fellowships, trusting, and mutually supportive relationships among leaders who now act as an African American Leadership Family.

Skinner Leadership Institute Training & Development (SLITD) offers a combination of Training & Development Programs and Coaching & Consulting services focused on equipping individuals, teams and organizations to achieve moral and technical leadership excellence. The Institute has a stellar reputation for confidentiality and leadership excellence. Our programs are based on over 30 years of experience, research and in-depth awareness in training individuals from various fields.

LEADERS IN THE CHURCH

Elijah Project - In the spirit of the prophet Elijah, God’s messenger to the kings, the Elijah Project prepares a small cadre of leading pastors to understand and proclaim the politics of Jesus to leaders in the public policy process. Issues of poverty, justice, and equality for the poor and oppressed form the basis for the Elijah Project. Through the project, clergy are able to develop relationships with leaders in the public policy arena through participation in special events and training by Skinner Leadership Institute.

LEADERS AMONG YOUTH

Tom Skinner Campus Ministry/ Noonday Prayer at Howard University - For the past 30 years, the Tom Skinner Campus Ministry has provided students at Howard University with tools and skills to effectively model their faith and to make Christ known among students on the campus. SLI provides both administrative support, as well as moral and technical excellence leadership training for student participants.

CEEP/ Urban Leadership Academy - Skinner Leadership Institute provides leadership excellence training, coaching, team-building and conflict resolution skills for staff of the CEEP Urban Leadership Academy serving students at Ballou Senior High School, Washington, DC and out-of-school youth.
