Skinner Leadership Institute is a leadership development organization, founded by Tom Skinner and Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner to produce leaders who operate in technical and moral excellence. The Skinner Leadership Institute carries out their vision through outreach and leadership development to leaders of our nation, leaders in the church, and leaders among youth.

African American Leadership Seminar

Since its inception in 1985, the African American Leadership Seminar has created an environment where high level African American leaders from diverse fields can build strong relationships in a secure, confidential, “invitation-only” setting. While the Leadership Seminar offers stimulating presentations and dialogue on vital public policies, our primary focus is to build trusting, mutually supportive relationships among leaders. For years, the Up From Harlem comic has been a powerful tool in the lives of inner city youth. Young people who are faced with the violence and challenges of growing up in the inner city have related to Tom's journey as leader of one of Harlem's leading street gangs to becoming a powerful messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
